TH 308, Biblical Christian Ethics (2 Credits)

Grading
Those registering to take the course for credit will be given a final grade as determined by the instructor. Anyone wishing to withdraw from the class must notify the designated representative from Bethesda Church to complete a withdrawal form. If a student withdraws from the course prior to the first session, it will not appear on his or her academic record. Once the course begins on Sunday through the end of Monday’s session, it will appear as a W (withdraw passing). However, anyone withdrawing from the class after the end of Monday’s session will be given a WF (withdraw failing).
Textbook Purchase
Students will be responsible to purchase the necessary textbooks for the class. The textbooks and supplemental reading are listed below. Students must prepare pre-class assignments as described in the syllabus. Click to download the Theology 308 Syllabus.
Required Texts
- Any translation of The Bible (Preferably KJV, NKJV, NAS, or ESV).
- Stassen, Glen H. & Gushee, David P., Kingdom Ethics: Following Jesus in Contemporary Context (InterVarsity, 2003).
- Wright, Christopher J.H. Old Testament Ethics for the People of God (InterVarsity, 2004).
- Supplementary Reading Packet (will be provided at the first class session).
Library Services
Bethesda Church has an extensive library that will be available to students. However, we want students to know they will have access for additional study through various local Bible College libraries such as Crown College, Bethel University, and Northwestern Bible College.
Closing Banquet
Bethesda Church will be providing a light supper on Sunday, a banquet on Saturday, as well as refreshments throughout the week. |
